Interesting that Sirius was the one who said this, considering how poorly he treated Kreacher and how often Hermione called him out on it. One of the things I love about JK Rowling is that she gives every one of her characters flaws. Sirius was a great guy, but he still treated his house elf like crap based on prejudices that Kreacher had no control over and didn’t freely choose for himself. I’m assuming JK put this in here to juxtapose Sirius’s supposed heroism with his mistreatment of his own inferiors. Just a thought.
