Why is he called Pooh if his name is Winnie? Think...
He is Winnie the Pooh bear. Pooh isn’t his last name. It’s what he is. Imagine if you called me Rachel the human being, but then refered to me as just “human”. I suppose in a world where there is only one of every creature it makes sense*. But still, why not Winnie?

Interesting that Sirius was the one who said this, considering how poorly he treated Kreacher and how often Hermione called him out on it. One of the things I love about JK Rowling is that she gives every one of her characters flaws. Sirius was a great guy, but he still treated his house elf like crap based on prejudices that Kreacher had no control over and didn’t freely choose for himself....
